Advanced WTE Ash Solutions

EnviroAsh Technologies processes Waste-To-Energy (WTE) bottom ash using a novel hybrid plant design that recycles and re-purposes 100% of the ash. The company has been in operation since 1994 and has invested over $2.5 million in ash treatment technologies since that time.

EnviroAsh Technologies has adapted techniques from the mining and mineral processing industries which, when combined with our knowledge of mining industry buyers such as smelters and refineries, enables unprecedented metal recovery and revenues from combined WTE ash. The isolation of metals into saleable products leaves the remainder of the ash metal-free and cleaned for unrestricted and liability-free use as aggregate and in concrete products.

Development Status
– $2.5M and 20 years invested, and 4,900 tonnes bottom ash processed in full-scale demonstration of core system.  EnviroAsh is now seeking venture capital to commercialize the fully patented (world-wide) technology.

Revenue Generation

EnviroAsh’s technology generates revenues from the sale of metals, metal products, aggregates and industrial chemicals isolated from the ash, and also from processing fees made possible by eliminating disposal costs and liabilities.  Return on investment is highly site specific however many sites are projected to pay back plant capital in under 3 years.

Innovation

EnviroAsh has adapted mining techniques to ‘mine’ metals from the ashes produced by Waste-to-Energy (WTE, or waste incinerator) operations, recovering lost value and liberating the bulk of the ash for unrestricted use as aggregate.

Advantages of EnviroAsh Technologies

- Mineral processing techniques are robust and well understood.

- Process steps are highly adaptable, and can work with existing recovery systems as   needed.

- Capital and operating costs are low and well understood, equipment is plentiful.

- Economies of scale apply: Bigger plants mean better economics – large, centralized facilities make sense.

- Higher product purity versus existing dry recovery systems means higher product values.

- No limitation with respect to particle size means higher overall recoveries and potential to recycle 100% of the combined ash.

An EnviroAsh facility will look much like a conventional mill (aka 'concentrator') at a mine site such as Sante Fe Gold Corp's flotation mill shown above. By adapting techniques from the mining industry, EnviroAsh is able to ‘mine’ a new ‘ore’ – Waste-to-Energy ash – to generate revenues while also enhancing recycling and recovery.
